Indepth

Indepth is a small collaboration of European academics and practitioners with the goal of promoting the value of learning about learning in the ‘informal’ science sector.

Our aim is to ask questions about how visitors engage with museums and science centres. We share that mission with a growing number of colleagues around the world. Some focus on ‘measuring’ the experience; others are more interested in exploring the nature and potential of the experience. We see ourselves more aligned with the latter group than the former.

The Indepth members (today) are:
Marjolein van Breemen, Head of NEMO Science Learning Center, Science center NEMO, The Netherlands.
Justin Dillon, Professor of Science and Environmental Education, King's College London, UK.
•  Rooske Franse, Senior Project Manager, Science Learning Center, Science Center NEMO, The Netherlands
Aliki Giannakopoulou, External Relations, Science Center NEMO, The Netherlands.
Heather King, Research Fellow, King’s College London, UK.
Maartje Raijmakers, Professor Cognitive Development, University of Amsterdam & endowed professor at NCWT/Science Center NEMO, The Netherlands.
Maria Xanthoudaki, Director Education & CREI (Centre for Research in Informal Education), National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci, Italy.
